The world we live in thrives on beauty and youth. If you're heading toward your 40s, you've probably given your appearance some thought. It's not like back in the old days when aging was normal and totally acceptable. These days aging can be a burden if you actually conform to what the media deems essential. Well, unfortunately we're only human, and typically run with the trends. This is why anti aging treatments rule the cosmetic counters these days. Many people believe that it's never too early to begin preserving your youth. Well at least we don't have to go it alone.

Have you ever taken a good look at Hollywood? It's a rather bizarre, yet sometimes deranged utopia. We're to believe that it's ideal, but you have to wonder when taking a gander at some celebrities. It seems they will do anything to stay young. Whether it's plastic surgery, starvation diets, or endless exercise, they're determined to fight father time. The general public is typically not so extreme. Sure, we want to look nice also, but tone down the regimes. A nice exercise routine, a healthy diet, and possibly a few anti aging treatments from the local mall pretty much do the trick. The vast spectrum of anti aging treatments on the market today really can work wonders. I look at my wife who's the tender age of 38, and notice how flawless her complexion is. Her skin and hair are beautiful. Sure, she takes care of herself with various cosmetics and exercise, but she certainly has never resorted to surgery. She still continuously gets carded for buying alcohol. This is a good sign. She takes advantage of a few anti aging treatments from various companies. She likes to try a number of products from Channel, Lancome, and Neutrogena. Not all fine anti aging treatments are expensive. You can locate several products at your local drug store that will get the job done. Let's face it, your goal is to preserve your youthful complexion and figure. You can fight wrinkles and the signs of aging with simple steps. Head out to the local mall department sores and see what anti aging treatments they have available and what they're supposed to accomplish. Even the drugstore on the corner may suffice. If you have trouble finding quality anti aging treatments that suit your skin, maybe you should hop online. The Internet is the largest resource for any and everything. You can check out a variety of reviews posted by real customers and surf to find the best deals on anti aging treatments that will aid you in the inescapable battle against time.

Reversing the effects of age on your appearance is a very popular subject today. With the first of the Baby Boomer generation coming into retirement age, there are more and more people around that are interested in ways to look younger. There are literally thousands of different anti-aging creams on the market today. Since women are especially concerned with the effects of age to their skin, most of these anti-aging creams are marketed towards women, but many men have turned to their use as well.

So do any of these anti-aging creams work at all? And what do they do exactly? The answer to if they work or not is yes, no and sort of all rolled into one. Most of these anti-aging skin products will produce the appearance of reduced wrinkles, which can be noticeable in even just a few weeks of consistent use. However, there aren’t any known anti-aging creams that will actually eliminate wrinkles or otherwise permanently reverse aging effects to your skin.

Anti-aging creams will remove layers of dead skin, and hydrate the lower layers giving them a plumper and fuller look that helps reduced the appearance of wrinkles. The wrinkles are not permanently removed, and will reappear after the discontinued use of the product. Therefore, you have to keep applying it everyday and will go through a lot of it quite fast. Since the cost of many of these ant-aging creams is not cheap, maintaining the reduced wrinkle effect they offer can become expensive.

You can achieve a somewhat fuller, plumper skin appearance by using less expensive moisturizers. The only scientifically tested and proven anti-aging cream ingredients are vitamin C and E, as well as Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). These three ingredients are proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but there are likely many other ingredients that will produce similar effects. Results of any particular product will vary from user to user, and a good strategy would be to try several different brands before settling on one that works best for you.

Anti-aging creams aside, the two most effective things you can do to slow down the appearance of wrinkles is not smoke, and apply sunscreen at the beginning of everyday if you plan on being outside for more than ten minutes. SPF 15 or higher is recommended. As much as you may want a tan, excessive UV exposure is a sure way to bring on wrinkled skin before its time.
Who doesn’t like the idea of fighting the effects of aging? Lets face it, we all pretty much want to live as long as possible, so the idea of anti-aging supplements is a pretty attractive one. Well, if you’ve been taking anti-aging supplements and hoping to live forever, I have some bad news for you; you can’t stop aging. The phrase ‘anti-aging supplement’ is pretty much a marketing ploy to play on that universal desire to stop the aging process, and you’re going to get old no matter what you do. Hopefully everyone knows this, but I just wanted to remind you in case you forgot.

The good news is there are certainly things out there that can slow some of the effects of aging down. You can avoid too much sunlight or wear sunscreen a lot, you can get a lot of antioxidants in your diet and generally eat right, and you can get some regular exercise. Also, avoiding stress, smoking or excessive drinking, and getting enough sleep every night helps a lot as well. Not really any of those things can you get from an anti-aging supplement, with the exception of perhaps some vitamins and antioxidants.

So what the heck is in anti-aging supplements anyway? Your guess is as good as mine. Every anti-aging supplement I’ve seen has had a different and unique list of ingredients, and some of them are just plain bizarre. The only things that seem to be common denominators in the anti-aging supplements I’ve seen advertised on TV or across the internet are indeed vitamins and antioxidants.

By taking a multivitamin everyday and eating plenty of fruit and vegetables you get all of the same things anyway; its funny that as soon as their put into a pill form they become an ‘anti-aging supplement’. For the most part, I think the label anti-aging supplement is just an excuse to charge a lot more for some vitamin compounds that would otherwise be fairly cheap to get on their own.

One type of anti-aging supplement that may have some serious promise is HGH, or human growth hormone. While its far too early to tell, from what I’ve read and heard it looks like a treatment with HGH pills could have a lot of anti-aging effects. Unfortunately, its going to be awhile before its effect on adults in an anti-aging supplement capacity is going to be fully studied and understood, so don’t get too excited just yet. Until then you can keep dumping your money on vitamins and antioxidants if it makes you feel better.

If you are SERIOUS about your Health and Longevity you owe it to yourself to know what to look for in a supplement or, anti-aging program. Also, it's critical you know what your body needs in order to achieve your health and longevity objectives. We are smart enough to know that many claims for magic anti-aging cream this and miracle anti-aging cream that are not truly staving off the inevitable and actual aging process. We know that we will, as one of my dear friends says, as we age, “fall apart.” But we also know that we can make the aging process more pleasant, more attractive, more acceptable. My grandmother used a face and hand cream every night of her adult life.  Maybe she didn’t call it anti-aging cream. Maybe it was not prescribed by a dermatologist or beauty supply expert who “guaranteed” she would look, feel, or BE younger. It is likely my grandmother did not sit at the hand-made vanity in the small and humble bathroom, applying Oil of Olay or Ponds or Jergens out of a profound awareness of any of these as anti-aging creams remedying the effects of “free radical damage;” the phenomena that includes skin exfoliating less often; sebum production slowing; and less oil flushing the skin…thereby drying it. It is likely she wanted to feel better in hands and face and neck after twelve hours as a scrub woman who was exposed to harsh, drying, and flesh-polluting chemicals and solvents.

The key to this game is finding anti aging supplements that work well for you. My wife swears by Este Lauder Fruition and Lancome eye cream. While these anti aging supplements work well for her skin, they may not work at all for others. You basically need to understand your skin type and what it requires to look healthy and vibrant. An ideal place to browse for anti aging supplements is your local department stores. These places are infused with cosmetic products. A second place to find anti aging supplements is online. It's simple when you shop from home.

What's up with our priorities these days? All people seem to care about is youth and beauty. Anti aging treatments are crowding the shelves of our drug stores and cosmetic counters. With the ridiculous impact of Hollywood, people can't seem to escape that desire to be young forever. Who started this? If I ask my wife, she'll say a man did. I have to admit, the pressure for women to look young is far more severe than that for men.

It's a good thing we have options in this age of continuous technology. Anti aging treatments never cease to amaze me. From wrinkle creams to miroderm abbrasion, the cures are endless. Since the media plays such a powerful role in this craze to stay young, we can all assume that celebrities take the most expensive measures when searching for the doctor of youth. No price is too high. If it's available, you better believe some actress or model will do it. To not be considered an old maid, women fight to keep a 20-something look forever.

While the stars can afford virtually anything available today, most of us cannot. Who has extra cash for Botox or memberships to the day spa? Many people must resort to mere cosmetics. Luckily there are a wide variety of these at your very fingertips. Do a search online and you will come up with a spectrum of anti aging treatments to help you battle those daily stresses and growing crows feet. You certainly don't have to be wealthy to find something to fit your budget. The sad truth is that if you do your research on anti aging treatments, you will locate reviews that may surprise you. Some of the more expensive treatments are not exactly worth the buck, and many of the drug store brands offer better results than the high-end companies.

Whether you're in the spotlight or not, you probably get critiqued by others on a daily basis. This seems to be a flaw in our current nature. Therefore most of us look for some kind of refuge when it comes to the aging process. How can we avoid it in this materialistic, beauty-focused world we all share. Our careers and those we interact with actually judge us based on youth and beauty half the time. Although it seems petty, it's still evident everywhere you go. The time of anti aging treatments is certainly here.

Then again, as our elders have this almost uncanny insight, this intuition about people, places, things, events, and phenomena that they might night have words about which to articulate, maybe my grandmother was using the stuff in the thick white glass jar with a deep well filled with a pink glop that made her smell buttery, powdery sweet throughout the following day to slow the aging process, to stall the flattening of skin layers, the subsequent thinning of the skin, the decreasing of Collagen stabilizing enzymes, the thinning of blood vessels and their inevitable change of blood flow to the surface of that skin.

Maybe that 99-cent jar was skin care/anti-aging cream…for her face was always clear, smooth, and virtually wrinkle-free.  And when she kissed me hello, I felt the silk of a skin one would never know faced ten hours a day, seven days a week cleaning offices at the local college and cleaning a hundred rooms at the wealthy folks' mansion on the lake.  Maybe, then, it was not only anti-aging cream, but anti-remembering cream, a forgetting potion, for she who worked so hard for so little, or an anti-forgetting cream for those who watched her apply it every night of their childhood…remembering decades later long after she passed, that cosmetic sweetness, that soft, seemingly unwrinkled skin.
