Becoming a parent can be one of the greatest blessings ever experienced. If you're a parent, you surely recall all of those cute little outfits, baby blankets, and memorable moments. With the infinite baby toys and supplies available today, having a newborn can be a blast. Technology has really catered to our many needs. After having a child of my own, I understand the certain things that every new set of parents will need on this wonderful journey. With the great selection of baby gift baskets at our disposal, it's hard to go wrong when picking out that perfect gift for a new family.
If you've ever browsed the department stores at your local shopping mall, you've surely come across a section of baby supplies. This was always my wife and my favorite place to browse before our little one was born. They offer a number of baby gift baskets and clothes to choose from. Whether you're looking for a toy, bedding, or bath supplies, they have it. Recently a friend of ours had a newborn. We wanted to get them a nice baby gift basket to aid them in their newly found parenthood. After searching through a variety of baby gift baskets, blankets and toys, we found what we were looking for. These nice little sets are better today than they ever were. They use the softest fabrics and the safest materials. You wonder how they make those little blankets so comfortable. You might actually want one for yourself after first contact. Needless to say, our baby gift basket was a success.

After being a parent, you surely know what gifts are more useful for new parents. There are just some things that you know they'll need. As a father I can assure any new parents that you can't really have too many little outfits or blankets. These things are used all of the time. When my little girl was born, I loved receiving baby gift baskets, and so did my wife. It's a wonderful new experience. If you're in need of baby supplies, toys or gift sets, there are a number of good places to look. Malls, baby superstores, and specialty shops will carry a variety of adorable things that will satisfy anyone's needs. Another great place to check for good deals on baby gift baskets is online. The Internet carries an enormous selection of products, and the best thing is the price. Online you will find deals that easily compare with any you can find in a store.

When we think of babies we usually picture a pink, glowing little face that radiates general cuteness. We rarely associate pimples to a baby’s countenance. However, many babies have infant acne that usually appears when the little one is between three and four weeks old and the unfortunate condition is also common in newborns.

Many new parents are a little dismayed by the little red bumps on their baby’s precious little puss but infant acne is temporary and usually does not need to be treated at all. Even though the infant acne does not typically need to be treated, it does not typically disappear completely all at once. Parents can expect to see little bumps appearing off and on during the baby’s first six months of life.

When my daughter was about three months old, she broke out in a pretty significant case of infant acne. Her adorable little face was covered in little red bumps and speckled with whiteheads. The condition was the source of some stress for me, so I asked her doctor about infant acne.

The pediatrician was very helpful and very diligent about explaining the skin condition to me. I was surprised to find out that the baby still had some hormones in her system that passed through the placenta while I was carrying her. The infant acne is evidence of the hormones and it is also evidence that the baby is working the unnecessary hormones out of her system.

The baby’s skin is going through what the pediatrician called an “awakening” that occurs as the baby’s system cleanses itself of unwanted elements. Sometimes the unwanted elements emerge in the form of infant acne. The skin’s awakening is just a natural process that just about every baby goes through. There is really nothing we can do to stop infant acne.

There is no way to really treat it, either. In fact, parents often make the condition worse by washing the baby’s face too much. This can actually make infant acne inflamed. Other things that factor into the baby breakouts include detergents, milk and spit-up. Even the baby’s favorite blanket can contribute to infant acne.

Breastfeeding Is The Best

If you have decided to breastfeed your precious child, congratulations! Breastfeeding builds a unique and special bond between mother and child that only a mother can provide. You are also ensuring they recieve the only complet and natural nutrition that nature has intended. The health and quality of life benefit greatly on this choice. Here, I have summed up breastfeeding in an overview. However, by all means, visit the links section and the articles section which can give you guidance on many things. You may also find where to get support, and how to deal with breastfeeding problems.

Benefits to baby include but certainly are not limited to:

There are so many benefits to the baby it is almost entirely impossible to list them all! I have selected a few of the key ones here......... -Formula fed babies are hospitalized 10 times more than breastfed babies in their first year of life.

-Breastfeeding plays an important role in the emotional and spiritual development of babies

-There are sources in human milk that destroy E coli, salmonella, shigella, streptococcus, pneumococcus....and many others

-Nursing promotes facial structure development, enhanced speech, straighter teeth and enhances vision.

-Decreased risk of tooth decay (cavities)

-Reduced risk of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) Statistics reveal that for every 87 deaths from SIDS, only 3 are breastfed.

-Reduced risk of chronic constipation, colic, and other stomach upsets

Benefits to Mom include but are not limited to:

-Reduced risk of breast, ovarian, cervical, and endometrial cancers -Moms miss less time off from work due to child related illnesses -Breastmilk is free- reducing or eliminating the cost of formula (in the thousands of dollars/per year) -Helps the uterus contract after birth to control postpartum bleeding -Breastfed babies are sick less thus reducing healthcare costs to family in Doctor office visits, prescriptions, over the counter medicine purchases, and hospitalizations -Develops a special emotional relationship and bonding with her child

Other benefits:

-No crying baby in the middle of the night who is waiting for you to heat up formula. -Knowing you are giving your baby the best start to his/her life makes you feel good. -Nothing can replace the incredibly strong bond that breastfeeding creates. -Breastmilk is forever changing, depending on what your baby needs. -Breastfeeding produces hormones whiech have an endorphin effect, giving you a relaxed feeling.

There is NO doubt and nobody can honestly argue that breastfeeding is not best.

However, some mothers may not be able to (which is rare). Some mothers cannot produce enough milk to exclusively breastfeed, or other breastfeeding problems. The second best thing to breastfeeding is using someone elses milk. This is very safe - breast milk banks. The cost is not small though! In some cases, babies may not tolerate any formula and a doctor will prescribe that breastmilk is the only food he/she should have. This is extremely rare - but in those cases, your insurance may cover the cost.

Last on the list is formula. There have been great strides in making formula better and safer for your baby, but it is still not as good as breastmilk. If you absolutely have to feed your baby formula, and exhausted all means to breastfeed - don't let it get it to you. Many moms feel guilty about not being able to breastfeed although they have tried everything. Learn from what went wrong, and you will be able to next time! Enjoy your time with your baby, they will not be a baby forever. Hold him very close to you when he takes a bottle. Keep lots of skin to skin contact, and look him in the eyes and tell him how beautiful he is!
